Teething has been crazy for me, the diarhhoea, the screams, the cries, it’s just too crazy. Anyway, I have found something that is currently working for me- it hasn’t reduced the diarrhoea and screams, but the cries have definitely reduced. Wait, I forgot one thing, the drooling! It’s actually funny that baby saliva doesn’t smell, okay, it does smell, but that smell is of milk! I love the smell of milk, but not everyone!
Uhhmmm, sp, what has been working for me?
- My fingers
I have officially left my Left hand fingers to my baby. Whenever it gets crazy for him, I give him my fingers and he bites them and moves them at his own free will. I noticed he wants something that can rub across his gums without having to fall down and him needing to pick it, so whenever my fingers are sliding out I help him by making them steady. I rub across his tiny gums and he smiles throughout this whole process, then finally screams and yes! That is how it has worked for me.
2. My husband’s magic bracelet
So, my husband has this beaded bracelet of our country’s flag, he is a serious and loyal Kenyan, lol! One day when he was carrying the baby, I noticed he was oddly quiet and busy- that isn’t my baby! So, looking at him he was busy “eating” my husband’s bracelet and seriously drooling. He would scream once in a while but no cries- that was when I found out about this magic bracelet- yes I call it a magic bracelet because it has worked for me! Whenever he starts crying and my fingers aren’t of much help, I give him he bracelet and whoop! It is dealt with.
So, I made sure my left hand fingers are with short nails and constantly clean to avoid giving my son an infection. With the bracelet, I boil it every evening once he goes to bed, and so far, so good. Teething is crazy but these two have made it bearable for me! How are you managing teething? What is working for you?
